Dream Casting Jughead's Younger Sister Jellybean on 'Riverdale'

Over the weekend at 2017 Comic-Con, Riverdale fans were delighted to hear that Jughead’s younger sister Jellybean might actually be coming to the show.

While we don’t know when or what causes her and Jughead’s mom to return to the town, producers and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa are very particular about just who will be playing them.

Their casting is “crucial” — that’s the word JJJ was hearing all weekend long.

But, since we just can’t wait for an announcement, we’ve put together a short list of actresses who would be PERFECT as Jellybean.

'Riverdale' Previews New Character Toni Topaz & Trouble Ahead for Bughead

'Riverdale' Previews New Character Toni Topaz & Trouble Ahead for Bughead

Bughead shippers, be on the lookout for Toni Topaz, the brand new character in Riverdale season two that’s going to mess with your ship.

Vanessa Morgan has been tapped to play Toni, a bisexual student at Southside High and a member of the Southside Serpents.

“She’s sort of Jughead’s guide into the Serpent world,” showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared with EW. “We jokingly say that she’s got a lot of the same interests as Jughead, so it’s almost like she’s a female Jughead.

He adds, “She’s trouble! I think she’s trouble, getting Jughead into this gang. And I think she might be trouble for Bughead.”

“Jughead is placed kind of in the middle of two worlds that are starting to collide and really erupt, and as the season [progresses], it’s going to start forcing him to really pick a side,” Cole Sprouse says. “Which is quite a dangerous space for him to be in because he’s a very morally gray character.”

And true Archie Comic fans don’t have to worry, Toni will be bisexual and rocking her pink hair.

“That’s something that’s in the comic books and has been for a while, and we thought it would be really, really fun to have a bisexual character from the comics on the show,” Roberto says. “So, it’ll be trouble for a lot of the people on this panel.”

Get Ready For 'Dark Veronica' in 'Riverdale' Season Two!

Get Ready For 'Dark Veronica' in 'Riverdale' Season Two!

Things are about to get even darker in Riverdale!

During the show’s Comic-Con panel, the cast revealed that Veronica Lodge will be showing a new side of herself during season two, thanks to an ex-boyfriend.

Veronica’s bad boy ex Nick St. Clair arrives in town from New York and tests her relationship with Archie.

“He brings out Veronica’s dark side, which I don’t think we really got to see in season 1,” Camila Mendes said.

“Dark Veronica is much darker than Dark Betty,” producer Sarah Schechter noted.

But not all things related to Nick are bad!

Camila explained, “Episode 205, let me just say, is a really big ‘girls sticking together’ [episode]. This Nick St. Clair guy, the ex-boyfriend that comes into town, he does some really bad things. And it involves Veronica and Cheryl. And because of that, it brings all of the girls together to kind of fight it.”

Lili Reinhart Shuts Down Those Werewolf Rumors For 'Riverdale' Season 2

Lili Reinhart Shuts Down Those Werewolf Rumors For 'Riverdale' Season 2

There have been rumors abound that season 2 of Riverdale will involve werewolves in some capacity, but Lili Reinhart is here to shut those rumors down.

After the 20-year-old actress, who plays Betty, posted a comic on Instagram of her character with Jughead, fans began to speculate.

The image is from the Jughead: the Hunger comic series, an Archie spinoff that makes Jughead a werewolf.

Still, this absolutely isn’t what is going on here.

“Season 2 does NOT involve werewolves,” she tweeted in response to an article proclaiming it might, “Just going to nip that in the bud.”

Oh, well. We still have the fan rumor that Betty’s brother is Joaquin!

The 22-year-old actress recently talked to us about how she learned about the super-secretive scene.

“That was a secret scene that they added. I though the ending was me burning down the house, so we had no idea,” Madelaine told JJJ. “They added an extra day to film that scene and I was filming all my water stuff while they were doing that. Riverdale's Camila Mendes Teases 'Tension' Between Veronica & Archie in Season 2 (Exclusive)

Camila Mendes is giving us a little preview of what’s to come in the second season of Riverdale.

In particular, how will Veronica and Archie’s (KJ Apa) relationship be affected by all crazy events of the season finale?

“There’s going to be some tension in that relationship because obviously Archie’s just gone through a very traumatic experience,” Camila told JJJ, referring to Archie’s dad being shot. “It’s either going to make their relationship stronger or it’s going to make it weaker. Probably a little bit of both (laughs).”

She added, “It’s going to be that constant – Veronica trying to be there for him and Archie pushing her away.”
